Description

Basecamp set up on the Root Canal Glacier in Denali National Park, a place that draws climbers from around the world. The Moose’s Tooth is one of the most sought after objectives in the area, with well known routes such as Ham and Eggs and Shaken Not Stirred. Each year, hundreds of climbers travel to Alaska to take on these challenging lines. Getting here is an adventure on its own, since the only way in is by small airplanes equipped with skis that can land directly on the glacier. The landing zone sits at about 7,000 ft on the Root Canal Glacier. In the distance, Mount Dicky rises on the left at 9,545 ft, and Mount Barrille stands on the right at 7,650 ft. A glacier nearly a mile wide stretches between the Root Canal and those distant peaks.
